US broadcaster DISH Network demands $9.9m in damages for direct copyright infringement of 66 copyrighted works, broadcast by Easybox IPTV without permission. DisH is demanding $150,000 for each of 66 registered and copyrighted works owned by DISH and that the defendants “willfully and maliciously infringed by transmitting without authorization on the Easybox service,” the complaint alleged. The court is yet to sign off on DISH’s proposals but given the one-way in the case it seems unlikely.
